I write when the silence presses in at me from all sides and I can no longer bear it.
I write when the darkness threatens to close in on me and suffocate me.
I write when the nightmares stay with me for longer than just a moment, threatening to rob me of my sanity.
I write when I don’t want to forget a moment that caused my heart to swell, to skip a beat, to beat overtime.
I write to release the images that are sometimes so beautiful, so grotesque, so breathtaking, so horrifying that I cannot stand to replay them.
I write because sometimes it’s all I have.
