Weekend Coffee Share 06/25/17

img_1235Happy Sunday and welcome back to Write On for another Weekend Coffee Share! I hope you’re having a relaxing and/or productive weekend, whichever you’re needing. I also hope you’re staying cool in this weather! My phone’s weather app tells me it’s 84 degrees outside but the Mister keeps it nice and frosty in our home so it feels like it’s about 52… (That’s degrees Feherenheit for those in the world who go by Celsius. I have no idea what it would be in Celsius.)

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I’ve started writing fiction again! I’ve surprised myself with how the ideas have flowed. Maybe it’s because I actually created an outline this time and even character sketches. I’m pleased with the way the story is going although I’m afraid I’ve gotten a bit off track as of right now. I’ve created this whole “crazed person tries to break into woman’s coffee shoppe when I haven’t even revealed the reason someone might be after her. ๐Ÿ˜’ Leave it to my brain that jumps ahead. I still quite like the story though!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that these mosquitos will be the death of me. I don’t know how they get into the house but every now and then I see a stray one flying by, taunting me. I’m two seconds from telling the Mister we need to pack up and move out of the U.S. Do they have mosquitos in France? I could live in France…

If we were having coffee I would tell you that the Mister finally brought in one of our televisions from the garage and set it up in our bedroom and now we have Hulu! Surprisingly, the background noise has been good for my writing productivity, which surprises me. Usually I can’t write with any background noise at all. Maybe I’m turning a new leaf in my writing, maturing. That would be nice.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that last night the Mister and I and the kiddies went out to eat together. It’s been far too long since the last time we went out as a family and it was a lovely evening. Everyone except for our Oldest Daughter was stuffed from dinner and then we all came home and lounged together until bedtime. Earlier in the day I had been quite productive finishing up laundry and cleaning the kitchen. All in all it was a good weekend, minus the Girls fighting non-stop. Oh and the horrendous mosquitos… Did I mention the godawful mosquitos??? ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

If we were having coffee, I would thank you for stopping by but a mosquito the size of a hummingbird has just flown past me and now I must extinguish it before I have a panic attack. I hope you had a lovely weekend and have an even lovelier upcoming week! I’ll try to catch up with everyone’s weekend Coffee Shares at some point this week! Until next time!

Weekend Coffee Share- Sunday June 18, 2017

img_1235

Welcome back to Write On for another Weekend Coffee Share! I hope you had a productive week last week and a lovely, relaxing weekend! Before I forget, a very Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dads out there! I hope you had a lovely, relaxing day being spoiled by those you love and that love you. โ˜บ๏ธ

If we were having coffee I would tell you that this weekend was okay for the most part. I got an enormous amount of reading done, which made me extremely happy! I started and finished four (4!!!) books on my Kindle app, which not only surprised me but made me extremely happy as well! It seems that it’s been too long since I’ve really taken time out to read and I quite enjoyed doing it this weekend. I read Buried by C.J. Carmichael, The Goodbye Storm by Danielle Stewart, Follow You Home by Mark Edwards, and Scraps of Paper by Kathryn Meyer Griffith. These were all really good books and if you like suspenseful and/or mystery type stories I highly recommend the second two books!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I didn’t get nearly as much done this weekend as I hoped to. I was still fairly productive, but not nearly as much as I would have liked to be. It seemed that every time I turned around there was one more thing for me to clean. It was exhausting. There’s never enough hours in the day for me and I oftentimes find myself overwhelmed. I’ll be glad when the school year starts again and the kids are back in school. It seems the school year is far more relaxing than summer is for me somehow.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that my stepmother, whom I have never been particularly close to and don’t particularly care for, texted me yesterday and asked me why she hadn’t heard from me in awhile. I told her what she should already know- I’m an adult who has three children, a significant other, a puppy and a job. Last time I checked I didn’t see her calling or messaging me at all either. She’s one of those who thinks the world revolves around her. ๐Ÿ™„ She put me in quite the nasty mood, a bad enough mood that I was so anxious about having to speak to her if I called my Dad to wish him a happy Father’s Day so I just didn’t call. I’m horrible person, I know. And I’m going to leave that situation at that before I say a lot of nasty stuff about this woman.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that the mosquitos here are freaking horrible. I have no idea how to get rid of them but they’re everywhere. Mosquitos are my arch nemesis and I have quite the phobia of them. I don’t know how they get in the house, I swear they’re breeding indoors. I spend 98% of my time at home killing the little buggers and they make my anxiety skyrocket. Why can’t I have a normal phobia like heights or elevators? Why does it have to be mosquitos? I hate them… ๐Ÿ˜ง (Also if anyone has any tips on how to kill them indoors, please feel free to share them. I’m two seconds from a panic attack. I can feel it.)

If we were having coffee I would tell you that’s really all that’s been new lately. I haven’t really written much because I’ve been so absorbed in my reading and in family life. I’ll try to catch up on everyone’s Coffee Shares this week. I do hope all you Dad’s had a lovely Father’s Day and I hope everyone has a lovely upcoming week! Until next time!

Happy Sunday! Welcome back to Write On for another Weekend Coffee Share! I hope you’re having a lovely end to your weekend and a productive beginning to organizing your mind, body and soul for this coming up week. ๐Ÿ˜Š It’s surprisingly been a cool (temperature wise) weekend here in West Texas. My weather app tells me different and is possibly correct seeing how I’ve been inside for most of the weekend.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that work has been stressful lately. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. ๐Ÿ˜’ What is it about working with a group of women? It’s like we feel this prehistoric urge to be the alpha female, it’s ridiculous and embarrassing. (I’m not speaking of myself when I say this, I only worry about what I do at work, not what my coworkers do. It sounds horrible but that’s not what I get paid to do. ๐Ÿ˜’) I feel as though I’m stuck in the middle between two coworkers and it really sucks, they’re both my friends but now they’re just bickering constantly and I don’t entirely think our supervisor knows how to handle the situation. It’s just an unpleasant situation and I hate feeling as though I am stuck in the middle.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I’ve been reading up a storm this weekend! Well, I’ve finished two whole books on my Kindle app, which was nice for me because it’s been such a long time since I’ve actually had the opportunity to sit down and read an actual book. I adore getting lost in fictional worlds. It’s therapeutic for me. ๐Ÿ˜Š

If we were having coffee I would tell you that yesterday was my Oldest Daughter’s birthday and it was lovely! The Mister had to work all weekend but was off on Friday so we all went to his parent’s house to celebrate Oldest’s birthday. She made out like a Bandit with two journals, apparently trendy hairbows, a lip gloss making kit, a Fidget Spinner, and a beautiful necklace from her Grandma and Grandpa. It was a lovely day with Family. ๐Ÿ’•

If we were having coffee I would tell you that tonight the Girls and I discovered baby bunnies in our backyard! They are a bit hidden in a hole and slightly covered by grass, but they’re alive and well. They’re too cute! The Mister is worried that the Puppy will try to eat them but so far she’s only been curious to look at them and the Mister and I have decided to keep her inside until he can assess the situation a bit more. They are too cute!

If we were having coffee I would also tell you that earlier a male dog was roaming the neighborhood and he and my baby dog have apparently become friends. ๐Ÿ˜„ He came to our screen door and sniffed at my baby dog who seemed smittened with him. ๐Ÿ˜„ They kind of kissed a bit (which was quite awkward) and then he went on his way. He had a collar on so I’m guessing someone is probably missing him and I tried briefly to track down an owner by walking up and down the street with him but he became distracted and wandered off to another family who was also outside. The family said if I didn’t find his owner they would be happy to take him off my hands, which I thought was extra shady but the dog ended up wandering off at some point.

If we were having coffee I would tell you this weekend has been quite exciting and I’m not particularly looking forward to work tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜• It’s hard to work when you feel uncomfortable around your coworkers. ๐Ÿ˜ž Hopefully the week will go by quickly and then I can come back into the comfort of my home that I love very much. Who knows, maybe more Baby animals will show up next weekend. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend and I look forward to catching up on everyone’s Coffee Shares! Thanks for joining me this weekend and I’ll see you all next Sunday! ๐Ÿ’•

Evening Lovely Blogger Friends! Welcome back to Write On for another Weekend Coffee Share! I hope you had a lovely week last week. My weeks have been going by much more quickly since I have been having Fridays off. I almost dread the day when my Boss tells me those days are over…

If we were having coffee I would tell you that Friday was a lovely day. I woke early and brought the Little People to school and then the Mister and I went and collected our paychecks and had breakfast at IHop. After that we walked around Best Buy for a bit, searching for a laptop charger to replace the one our teething puppy chewed in half. Unfortunately, we didn’t find one. Shame. We also walked around Booksamillion for awhile and my debit card screamed at me to remind me that I don’t have enough money for all of the purchases I want. Also a shame. I was quite heartbroken. All in all it was a lovely, relaxing day.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that puppy has been quite rambunctious this weekend and I am rather exhausted as a result. It’s just like having a toddler all over again! The girls and I took her for a walk yesterday and the poor thing was all over the place. We only walked up and down our street one time but she’s never been on a walk before (we have a large backyard she plays in and our vet keeps telling us we shouldn’t take her out too often since she is a puppy and that she’s extremely susceptible to puppy viruses. She was entranced by all of the different smells and stopped frequently to smell specific spots on sidewalks for several moments at a time. Once we got back home the poor thing was exhausted and took a long nap. I think she enjoyed herself. ๐Ÿ™‚

If we were having coffee I would tell you that nothing rather interesting has been happening lately. My tomato and jalapeno plants are blooming nicely and the citronella plant seems to be doing it’s job. I need about a thousand more of those because I have a mosquito phobia… ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Anyhow, that’s really all that’s been new with me. How about you? How was your week? I hope you had a lovely weekend and have a productive upcoming week! Until next time, Friends!

Welcome back to Write On for another Weekend Coffee Post! I’m actually surprising myself with writing this as I had nearly forgotten all about it! This weekend has been hectic and long, my goodness it was long. I’ve got a few moments to spare so I decided to take advantage of this time to write.

If we were having coffee I would tell you (well all of the Ladies) Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you had a wonderful one! The Mister had to work today so we didn’t get to spend as much time together as I would’ve liked, but it was still a wonderful day. I got a ton of cleaning done and then took the kids out to the Parent’s house to celebrate Mother’s Day. We ate delicious pizza for dinner and then just enjoyed each other’s company. It seems as though it’s been so long since we’ve been out there and some time in the country was exactly what I needed. It’s like the air is different out there, I can’t really explain it. It was certainly much more peaceful, which changed as soon as the kids and I hit the city limits. The girls fought nonstop on the way home and I swore that I was going to wreck the car just from nerves alone.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I’ve bought a new journal… If you areย new to the blog you may not know that I am a bit of a journal hoarder… I buy them as frequently as I take a breath… Okay, maybe not that frequently, but still pretty frequently. So far all I’ve done is made some notes of some of my favorite poems in it, which I’m pretty happy about. I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my handwriting and end up tearing pages out once I’ve scribbled on them and have (once again) vowed not to do that this time around. We’ll see how long this lasts… I give this journal a week before it’s falling apart from all of the pages I’ve torn out. Who knows, maybe I’ll surprise myself.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that due to hour cuts I’ve had the past couple of Fridays off from work and they have been wonderful! The first Friday I had off I got a refill on my medicine and just relaxed. This past Friday, the Mister and I went to see the new Avengers movie together and it was wonderful! There weren’t many people in the theater and it was nice to be able to spend time together, just he and I. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Little People, but sometimes I just need a break. The Mister had taken our son a few days before to see the movie with Grandpa, which also made me really happy. My son is at that age where he needs “Guy Outings.”

Oh my goodness, I nearly forgot! When the Mister and I and the kids were living in our first home together (an apartment) I used to talk about how much I wanted to one day start a garden when we finally got a house. Well now that we have a house, I am able to begin working on that. For Mother’s Day the Mister surprised me with a citronella plant (because he knows I despise mosquitoes with the intensity of a trillion burning suns) and also a tomato plant because he knows how much I absolutely adore tomatoes! He also bought me some soil and a watering hose attachment to make nourishing my beauties a bit easier! I was in heaven when I saw those!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I’m sure I could search for more that has happened this past week, alas, I’m exhausted just from the drive home tonight with screaming, fighting daughters in the car while I’m doing 75 on the highway. I’m ready to fall into bed and sleep… I hope that everyone had a lovely, wonderfully productive (or relaxing if you’re against productive) weekend and that you have an amazing upcoming week!

Welcome back to Write On for another Weekend Coffee Share! This has been the best weekend ever! Due to my scheduled work hours being cut, my boss has given me the next couple of Fridays off and this past Friday was the first. The Mister is off on Fridays as well so we spent the entire day together without the Little People! This was the first time in such a long time that we’ve had an entire day to ourselves. It couldn’t have been any better.

After I woke up, I went and took the Little People to school and then came back home and lay down in bed for awhile. The Puppy seemed quite confused that I was home when I’m usually not and this made her a bit hyper. She ran from between the living room and our bedroom quite a few times before finally laying back down for a little while.

The Mister took me to pick up some of my medicine and then we had lunch together, which was a nice change. Target is right across from where we were eating so we stopped in there for a bit and ended up buying each of the kids a poster for their rooms and some new shoes for me, which I was needing desperately. I’m so bad about hanging onto shoes long after they needed to be let go. Actually, come to think of it, I’m bad about hanging onto everything long after it needs to be let go. All in all, it was a good day, one of the best I’ve had in a long time.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I think these three day weekends are exactly what I need at this point in my life. I’ve been wishing for so long for just one uninterrupted day where I can sit and write and now it finally looks like, after thirteen years of working and taking care of children, I may actually get this opportunity! I just hope it lasts…

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that not much new has been happening with me. I’m still feeling pretty great about having finished the 2017 A to Z Challenge and while I haven’t written daily since the challenge ended, I’m still writing more frequently than I used to which makes me happy. I hope you had a lovely, relaxing and/or productive weekend and thank you so much for stopping by for coffee! I can’t wait to hear about how your upcoming week went!

survivor-atoz [2017] v1

I’m not sure why this badge is so large, but my computer didn’t give me the option to resize it alas, my apologies if it’s taking up you’re entire screen.

I DID IT! I finished the A to Z Challenge!

… If we were having coffee, I would tell you that this has been a good weekend. I’ve been stationed on the couch, watching a Harry Potter marathon in between chores and writing. I’ve wrapped up the 2017 A to Z Challenge and I feel good about it! I worked really hard on my posts this year and I’m hoping I can keep the writing momentum going throughout May. Most of my posts were written right before I fell into bed for the night, the majority of them written on my iPhone, but quite a few were written on the laptop my Mister gave me as a gift for Christmas that I hadn’t honestly used all that much before this.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that since I’ve been on WordPress on my laptop instead of on my phone I’m noticing a lot of posts in the reader that I’m otherwise missing through emails. I know it’s my subscription preferences as my email was being inundated with email after email and it was just easier to read posts in my reader. I’ve also noticed that a lot of the images included with posts don’t show up in my emails and sometimes not even if I visit the page through Internet Explorer. I much more prefer reading them on WordPress.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I need to get up and go buy some clothes for my daughters. I don’t understand what these girls do all day at school that they come home with holes in their shirts and pants. I wonder if they have wrestling competitions. I was always a tidy child, probably more out of fear of what my mother would say about dirty and torn clothes than because I didn’t like to play hard. I highly dislike shopping though, unless it’s for books. Maybe I’ll stop by a bookstore on the way home and see what I can find.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I haven’t done much else other than attempt my best to not just let the last few of my A to Z Challenge posts turn out half-hearted. This is what happened last year, I started out strong and then lost motivation towards the end. I wanted to continue this year to write from my heart instead of just writing what was easy. I think I succeeded. After I get done shopping and picking up a bit, I’ll relax and wait for my Mister to come home so we can all eat dinner together and unwind and prepare together for the upcoming week. I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing and/or productive weekend and if you participated in the A to Z Challenge, I hope you finished successfully! Have a wonderful upcoming week and thanks for stopping by!

Welcome back to Write On for another weekly Coffee post! I’m so glad you’ve decided to stop by! Today has been a really nice day, surprisingly. Usually Sunday’s are my most dreaded day of the week, it means the end of my lounging and back to the hectic schedule. I did try to take this weekend easier than I usually do though, which still consisted of me doing several loads of laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, meal preparation, not to mention trying to supervise unruly (and quite hyper) children and puppy. All in all, it’s been a lovely weekend though!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that today I discovered a truly lovely travel blog that I am enjoying very much! This surprises me because I’ve never been too interested in travel blogs, not to say that I don’t enjoy traveling, although I’ve only been to a few states and out of the country twice. The blog is called Travelling the World Solo.

Talk about instilling wanderlust in a person! Since I started reading this blog early this morning, I’ve been dreaming of all the places I would love to visit if I had the opportunity to. Australia, Japan, and the U.K. would definitely be on this list! There was a country that the blogger had visited and said that she thought it was unfairly judged (I think it was a Middle Eastern country, although I’m not entirely sure) and I thought that was very compassionate of her. I also think it’s very brave of her to go so far from her home, I’m a big pansy when it comes to traveling outside of my comfort zone. Needless to say, I’m hooked on this blog. If you love travel blogs, you should definitely check it out. Heck, even if you don’t love travel blogs you should check it out. This is the first travel blog I’ve ever read and I absolutely adore it!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that aside from the A to Z Challenge and my Weekend Coffee posts, I haven’t done much more writing but I’m hoping that the A to Z Challenge will keep me inspired long after it’s over. I’m proud of myself that I’ve made it this far without giving up and I’m also proud of myself for thinking ahead and deciding what I’m going to write about for the letter X, which is the letter that got me hung up last year and was the deciding factor of me throwing in the towel. I think I’ve since deleted all of last years A to Z posts. They were just awful, truly awful in my opinion. I think one of the things that made the challenge so hard for me was trying to stick to a theme. This year I’ve pretty much been writing about whatever is on my mind and it’s been much eaiser.

If we were having coffee I would thank you for stopping by, but I really haven’t done much else other than wonder how in the world my two daughters (who are nine and six) can make such a horrendous mess in such a short period of time. I swear I’ve cleaned the living room twice this weekend already and both times the girls have destroyed it less than ten minutes after I was finished. It’s beyond frustrating. Now I must jump in the shower and head off to bed although honestly I’ll probably stay awake and read more of Travelling the World Solo. I hope you had a lovely weekend and I’ll stop by sometime this week to catch up with everyone’s posts. Have a lovely upcoming week!

Weekend Coffee Post April 16, 2017

img_1235

Sunday, nooooooo! Well, it is what it is, I suppose. This weekend flew by! I suppose that means I had fun! It wasn’t too bad of a weekend, as far as quickly-flying-by weekends go. My iPhone’s weather app keeps telling me it’s in the 70’s but I’m calling shenanigans. I’ve been freezing since last weekend and I’m just basically ready for summer. Beyond ready for summer! Either that or I need to move somewhere tropical! That would be lovely!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that today was absolutely wonderful! The Mister and I and the kids went to the parent’s house and dyed hard boiled eggs and then had an egg hunt! It was a lot of fun as always and I think this year was one of the most challenging years as far as our egg hunts go. The Parent’s were really getting creative with their egg hiding spots and we even had to do a few “Hotter, Colder” clues. Our eggs turned out wonderfully though and overall everyone had a lot of fun!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I’ve recently discovered a blog, ambroseandelsie, on WordPress that is an unraveling novel, post by post. It’s a story about a girl who falls in love with a vampire, but then there’s a gargoyle, and then there’s competition and hunters, and, and, and… I’m hooked which actually surprises me because honestly it’s not really my genre of preference but I can’t get enough. It’s (in my opinion) very well written and I’m excited to see what happens next! I do very much admire the writer, she is very consistent with her scenes as far as the whole story makes sense to me, there aren’t any gaps of “Well wait, that doesn’t make sense.” The story is just flowing and I adore it.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that reading this story of Ambrose and Elsie has once again inspired me. I’ve told myself, “I can do this. I can write fiction.” and already the ideas are swirling around in my head. I don’t actually know if I can write fiction because I’ve only ever finished one fictional (based on facts) story that I keep telling myself I need to edit, but that thing was painful enough to write the first time, I don’t know if I can write it all over again. I actually think I deleted every chapter I wrote of it just because the thought of reading over the words again sent me into an anxious mess. I’ll get around to playing with ideas, I’m sure…

All in all this weekend was a good one. It was relaxing, although I have laundry I still need to dry and fold/hang up, sleep to catch up on, mental preparations to go through for tomorrow. I’m hoping this coming up week will go smoothly and stress-free. I could use some stress-free days. Anyhow, thanks for stopping by! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that this upcoming week is smooth sailing! Until next weekend!

Weekend Coffee Post April 9, 2017

img_1235

Happy Sunday, Friends! ๐Ÿ˜„ Ahh Sunday. My least favorite day of the week… Sundays seem to catch me off guard every single week. It’s like finding that you were extremely unprepared for something you’ve been planning for your entire life every. single. Sunday. Alas, it is what it is.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that last week seemed like it was a very long week. Friday couldn’t come quickly enough and then once it got here, the weekend simply flew by. I spent most of today laying in bed reading and playing a game on my phone, along with the six or so loads of laundry I did. Yesterday I steam cleaned the carpet in my bedroom and cleaned out from under one of the couches in our living room. I found everything we ever lost since we moved in and around $5.75 in change. I’ll try not to spend it all in one place. ๐Ÿ˜„ Today I did a ton of dishes and laundry, read a little bit, went grocery shopping and then made dinner. Beef enchiladas to be exact. I’m exhausted.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that in the past week I’ve read four or so ebooks on my Nook app and it’s left me feeling strange. Writing fiction has been my dream since I was very young but I don’t practice it often enough to cultivate my skills. Maybe once the kids are older and don’t require so much supervision… In the meantime, I don’t mind appreciating the wonderful writing of others but I can’t help wishing that I could write the same as some of these writers do. I do feel a renewed sense of excitement at writing fiction again though so who knows, maybe I’ll give it a go.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that having friends on Facebook who are involved with independent selling of cosmetics is no good for my pocketbook! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I have yet to buy anything but my heart stops momentarily every time I look at these lip colors that apparently are supposed to last for 18+ hours. I don’t even wear lipstick… ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Really that’s all that’s been new with me. I’m just winding down and preparing myself for this upcoming week. I wish I could take a vacation, alas, I won’t be able to do that for another month or two. I hope everyone has been doing well and that you had a wonderful week last week! I also hope that this upcoming week is productive and enjoyable for you! Thank you so much for stopping by! ๐Ÿ’–
